Vacationing sisters, Lisa (Mandy Moore) and Kate (Claire Holt), are spending some quality time in Mexico after Lisa’s break-up with her boyfriend. Kate is the more outgoing adventurous type and can’t stand to see her sister being upset so she decides that they need to go and do something wild. Kate meets some locals who tell her about a captain that offers his patrons a chance to swim with great white sharks. Lisa is nervous and doesn’t think that it’s a safe idea but eventually steps out of her comfort zone and agrees to go. The women met the men at a dock and head out to sea with the rest of the crew.
When they find the perfect spot, the men get lowered into the cage first because Lisa is panicking and needs more time to prepare herself. Eventually, she calms down and it’s Kate and Lisa’s turn. The captain assures them that it’s safe and that they are only going five meters under the water and if they want to get out he can easily return them to the surface. Once inside, Lisa realizes that she was panicking for no reason and it is actually breathtaking under the water. Eventually, a shark appears and the girls are awestruck at his massive size. Then suddenly they feel the cage move a little and they drop a little further into the water. Freaked out the women ask to be brought back up. That’s when disaster strikes and their nightmare begins, the crane on the boat snaps off that the women are plunged into the depths of the ocean with multiple hungry sharks around them. The cage finally crashed into the ocean floor at a scary depth of 47 meters.
Watch the movie to find out what downright scary thrills and suspenseful scenarios await the women as they fight off the horde of hungry sharks that creep outside the wrecked metal cage.
